Be sure that the laminate is bonded securely to surface. Use a clean cloth or paper towel moistened with SF88 Solvent to remove sawdust, contact adhesive and oils from the joint, and to prepare the surface for bonding with SeamFil. Fine scratches are not suitable for repair. Cracks must show dark laminate substrate for SemiFil to properly adhere. Mixing Colors Refer to the SemiFil Color Matching Guide for your laminate brand to determine mixing proportions. Squeeze an amount of the first color onto a scrap piece of laminate. Add in the other colors according to the guide. Using the polished putty knife, mix the colors until the SemiFil thickens. SemiFil begins to cure quickly. Add in the SemiFil Retarder if more time is needed for color matching. Application After SemiFil has thickened, press it into the seam with the putty knife. Clean the blade with SF99 Solvent and level the repair. Cleanup Wipe the excess from around the repair with a cloth or paper towel moistened with SF99 Solvent. If shrinkage occurs, repeat process in about one hour. SeamFil reaches maximum cured strength after several days. |
