Metro Super Erecta Shelf — 24" D x 42" W, Brite Finish
Introduction
The Metro Super Erecta Shelf is a rugged, modular wire shelving system built to maximize storage in busy spaces. Designed for warehouses, kitchens, and workshops, this 24" depth by 42" wide unit delivers strong, stable support with flexible configuration options.
Features
- 24" depth x 42" width. This 42" wide shelf qualifies for the higher-capacity tier (800 lb per level) typical for shelves up to 48" wide.
- Brite standard finish, offering a clean, professional look.
- 800 lb per level for shelves ≤ 48" wide; 600 lb per level for shelves wider than 48" (evenly distributed load).
- Up to 2000 lb per complete shelf unit when fully assembled with the appropriate shelves and posts.
- Shelves and posts must be ordered separately to create a complete unit; shelf ledges shown are not included and must be ordered separately.
- For freestanding units, 14" shelving foot plates must be used.
- On mobile units (with casters), the maximum post height is 54".
- It is not recommended to use 14" shelving with posts higher than 74" for stability.
- Approximately 15 lb per shelf.
- Sizing below depth x length x height is common; for this unit, depth is 24" and width is 42" with finish noted above.
Benefits
With its open-wire design and robust load ratings, the Metro Super Erecta Shelf helps you store more in less space while keeping items accessible and organized. The high per-level capacity means you can place heavy boxes, equipment, or bulk goods on a single level without compromising stability, and the overall 2000 lb per unit limit supports multi-level configurations for larger storage needs.
Why this matters for your workflow:
- A compact footprint with strong weight capacity makes it ideal for dense storage areas, backrooms, or prep areas where space is at a premium.
- The modular approach lets you create shelves that fit your exact items, from canned goods to heavy tools, without overloading any single level.
- Wire shelf construction promotes airflow and is simple to wipe down, helping keep environments clean in kitchens, workshops, and warehouses.
- By selecting the number of shelves and posts (sold separately), you can tailor height and capacity to your evolving storage needs.
Practical use cases include maintaining bulk inventory in a warehouse, organizing tools and parts in a workshop, storing kitchen supplies in a commercial pantry, or shelving hardware and fixtures in a retail backroom. When planning a setup, consider heavier items on lower levels, pair with appropriate post heights, and factor in the 14" foot plates for freestanding installations to ensure maximum stability.
